The young Iranian harpsichordist Mahan Esfahani makes his Deutshe Gramophone debut with a typically adventurous mix of Baroque classics and Minimalist masterpieces, featuring his own multi tracked arrangement of Steve Reich's seminal 1967 Piano Phase and Henryk Gorecki's compact 1980 concerto, both recorded for the very first time on a period keyboard. "The harpsichord may never quite be mainstream material, but you sense that, if it were ever to get there, Esfahani might just be the man to make it happen." (International Record Review)
